- What other social and recreational amenities are available in and outside the campus?
UTM has many sports and recreational facilities, both indoors and outdoors, such as a soccer stadium, hockey, tennis, cricket, equestrian, kayaking, badminton, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. These facilities will be supplemented by some public and privately funded facilities available outside the campus. Students are encouraged to join the many student clubs and social activities on the campus. The sports unit is available to help organize and oversee sports functions and competitions. Or students can organize their sports activities through their Students Society.
- How long will it take me to get a visa approval letter (VAL)?
It usually takes 6 - 10 weeks upon receipt of a complete application and payment according to EMGS. You shall contact us now, and we will take care of your application.
- I’m currently doing my Bachelor degree at UTM; I’m planning to continue my Masters degree at UTM as well. Do I need to apply for a new visa?
Yes, a student needs to apply for a new student pass because it is considered a new course. You are required to cancel your previous pass and apply for a new VAL. However, we can help you not to leave the country during the visa progression.
- Can I take my family with me under my student visa?
Yes, students can bring their first-degree family members under their student pass. However, this is applicable to Postgraduate students only, while for Bachelor students, only certain nationalities have the ability to bring their families with them to Malaysia. The final decision is solely under the discretion of the immigration department of Malaysia.
